Google collects and retains location data on their servers from Android enabled mobile devices, as well as devices supporting Google applications such as Google Search, Gmail, Google Maps, and Google Drive, so long as the location services of the phone are enabled. Law enforcement officials across the United States have legally obtained this data from Google and used the data to assist identifying suspects where no leads existed. This course will provide a step by step process on the proper methods to obtain, interpret, and map the data provided by Google.
