Searching the Marketplace

Courses in the FirstForward Marketplace may be found by entering simple keywords. These search terms are used to match against course titles, course descriptions, topic areas, class locations, and the name of the vendor providing the training.

You may further refine the keyword search by including special commands:

  • To match the beginning and end of a word, include * in the middle of a keyword as wildcard (e.g., crim*s)
  • To match a specific phrase, add double quotes (e.g., "in the field")
  • To require words, add + before the word or phrase (e.g., +enforcement)
  • To exclude words, add - before the word or phrase (e.g., -structure)

Except when an exact match is required, the Marketplace search will attempt to match similar words, including partial matches and some misspellings.

Course Information

Public safety professionals work in a world most other professionals rarely, if ever, experience. Working in this world means dealing with unique challenges. Widely reported struggles with PTSD, depression, substance abuse, and other psychological problems within the public safety community indicate the challenges can be quite severe. In Strength & Resilience: First Responder Mental Health, Amy Morgan discusses the causes, signs, and symptoms of difficult mental wellness issues in this community – including burnout, anxiety, PTSD, and suicide – and how to treat and prevent these issues.

Amy Morgan, M.S.C., is the founder and Executive Training Director of Academy Hour, a training provider offering courses to law enforcement and first response teams. She is a member of IPSA, and serves as a subject matter expert in the areas of leadership and mental health for the IPSA and the Justice Clearinghouse. She also serves as a curriculum developer and instructor of mental health courses for the Council on Law Enforcement Education and Training in Oklahoma, and is the Strategic Training Partner for the Oklahoma Association of Chiefs of Police. Amy holds a master’s degree in counseling.
