This unique course will provide you with the knowledge and skills necessary to conduct and/or manage a thorough and accurate internal investigation in a manner that creates high levels of public trust in the process. It covers ordinary administrative matters as well as use of force and critical incident investigation, including investigation of officer-involved shootings. These processes build on the legal and management issues in day one, investigative techniques taught in the “general principles” day—including processing of scenes, interview of witnesses and appropriate documentation. Attendees will learn and understand, among other things:
