This is not “Leadership 101.” It is a macro-leadership program about the shaping and implementing of organizational policy and systems. It deals with managerial responsibilities that are non-negotiable. Styles can and will vary from leader to leader but adherence to certain key principles cannot. Leaders must put employees on clear notice of organizational standards. Those standards must be consistently enforced. Sanctions must be consistent and proportionate. A The supervision function must be led and managed. In certain key respects, it cannot vary from supervisor to supervisor; overarching consistency must be maintained from work group to work group. This requires a systemic approach to handling what historically was left to individual supervisory and managerial discretion. The program demonstrates the need for organizational solutions to organizational problems and emphasizes roles and responsibilities of the various members of the leadership team—with focus on accountability at all levels.
