Searching the Marketplace

Courses in the FirstForward Marketplace may be found by entering simple keywords. These search terms are used to match against course titles, course descriptions, topic areas, class locations, and the name of the vendor providing the training.

You may further refine the keyword search by including special commands:

  • To match the beginning and end of a word, include * in the middle of a keyword as wildcard (e.g., crim*s)
  • To match a specific phrase, add double quotes (e.g., "in the field")
  • To require words, add + before the word or phrase (e.g., +enforcement)
  • To exclude words, add - before the word or phrase (e.g., -structure)

Except when an exact match is required, the Marketplace search will attempt to match similar words, including partial matches and some misspellings.

Course Information

Situational Leadership® II is a model for developing people and talent. It is a strategy for releasing energy and creativity in an agency and for aligning individual goals and the agency’s goals. SLII® is a language, as well as a strategy, for teaching agreements with others about what they need from you in order to develop their skills, motivation, confidence, talent, and ability to contribute to the agency’s success. Because it opens up communication, Situational Leadership® II invites others to teach the people they work with about themselves and the kind of help they need in order to develop. As a result of learning to be Situational Leader, leaders and the people they manage and influence become more skillful, adaptable, and are open to new challenges. Your role as a situational leader, a teacher, and a coach, is to challenge the people you work with to become increasingly self-motivated and self-directed. Situational Leadership® II training will support the development of your skills as a coach, mentor, and influencer of others’ development.
